As we reflect back on our 2015 triathletes everywhere are gunning forward, our "new year resolutions" solidly in place. Tis the season :)
I finished the year with a win at both Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz and Ironman 70.3 Arizona in September and October respectively. Capping off the year with great results left me excited for the new year and the inevitable changes it would bring.
My first "real" year in triathlon was full of ups, downs, and all the in-betweens. With the expert guidance of Matt Dixon and the camaraderie of my fellow purplepatch teammates, I moved to San Francisco, competed in wunderbar Austria, and trained in the exotically hot Hawaii. I dealt with some injuries but conquered a year of a long distance relationship all while keeping the triathlon passion alive. I look back on 2015 with a smile on my face and an urge to push forward.
With this new year comes a transition forward. While still being coached by purplepatch I will now be sponsored by Team Timex and am extremely excited for what is to come! I am very thankful for the support I received from Freeplay Magazine through the 2015 season and I know they will continue to make strides in the women's endurance community. I can't thank my parents, boyfriend, Purplepatch, and teammates enough for their unwavering support. Day in and day out those individuals are there for me and I couldn't do it without them.
With that I leave you with my top three "tips" of 2015:
- Actions speak louder than words
- Work on your weaknesses
- Keep it simple, stupid
Happy New Year!
